Summary
ProxyPAC runs locally on your Mac. It does not operate an analytics service, create a ProxyPAC account, or send activity-domain statistics to the developer.
Proxy Configuration
Proxy addresses, usernames, ports, rules and preferences are stored on your Mac. Smart Proxy also stores learned domain names, why a proxy route was learned, and the times of the last proxy activity and connection validation. Learned records expire after 30 days without proxy activity. Proxy passwords are stored in macOS Keychain and are never included in the PAC file. These settings and records are not sent to the developer.
Active Domains and Traffic
When Active Domains is turned on, ProxyPAC keeps domain names, request methods, last-activity times, and byte counts for traffic successfully sent through the upstream proxy in memory, including while its window is closed. Direct connections are excluded. Full URLs, request headers, request bodies, and response content are not recorded. The in-memory statistics are cleared when Active Domains is turned off or the app quits.
Network Connections
The local PAC service and forwarder listen only on 127.0.0.1. Traffic is sent directly to destinations or through the upstream proxies you configure. Smart Proxy may check direct and proxy connectivity, including limited background checks after a direct connection succeeds. These checks can contact the destination and your upstream proxy even when the actual request uses a direct connection. Checks do not send the client’s URL path, cookies or request body, and do not replay the client’s request. The upstream receives the target domain, port and any configured proxy authentication. ProxyPAC does not decrypt HTTPS or secure WebSocket content. Other local software can use the forwarder and its configured credentials. HTTP proxy authentication is not encrypted in transit; use a trusted network or local upstream. Apple processes purchases and restoration through StoreKit.
Your Control
You can pause routing, quit the app, delete rules or proxies, clear selected learned domains, turn off Domain Statistics, and disable launch at login. Turning off Domain Statistics or quitting clears in-memory activity statistics; learned records remain until cleared or expired. Removing an upstream proxy and applying the change also removes its saved credentials. Allowlist backups contain rules and backup metadata only. Contact the developer below with privacy questions.

Connexions réseau

Vos choix
